Neighbor and operator concerns on traffic, parking and operations met with applicant defense and offer to revise plans

Public comment included detailed operational data and neighborhood safety concerns. Erin Brando, director of operations for Marquee Companies (Hope Village), told the commission her facility of the same size routinely sees more visitors and parked vehicles than the applicant’s assumptions, saying: "On average, Hope Village has 25 visitors to the assisted living a day and eight to the memory care... Our average parking right now 75 per day." Resident Craig Carpenter said narrow side streets and school traffic make left turns difficult and that additional driveway traffic could encourage more cut‑through driving in residential areas.

Applicant owner Petronella Donovan and representative Denell Eisenhart responded in rebuttal: Donovan stressed long experience in senior care and regional need for such facilities, and Eisenhart said the team has worked to resolve fire access from the prior approval cycle and will coordinate further with staff. The applicant formally asked for a continuance to June 8 to revise plans and provide the additional technical detail requested by commissioners; the commission granted that continuance by a 3–1 vote.
