Mr. Luke asked for a motion and Councilwoman Turnage moved to appoint Ashie Balden. Councilman Pikman seconded the motion. Councilwoman Turner stepped out of the discussion and vote because she is employed by the Picayune School District and the council recorded her recusal on school matters.
The council approved the appointment by voice vote and invited the councilwoman who had stepped out to rejoin the meeting.
