One trustee summarized the decision: the district “needs somebody in the finance position” given current forecasts. The motion to appoint Garza was moved, seconded, and approved by roll call.
The chair said the new trustee would be onboarded immediately and expected to begin attending committee meetings; the appointee will formally take his seat at the August regular meeting unless a special meeting is scheduled beforehand.
