City staff says Jenin dam grant was denied; appeal filed as downtown revitalization planning grant awaits decision

Amy hton told the council that "the initial 723 for the dam was denied because they say that the Army Corps of Engineers is not one of the groups that they will accept applications from and we have appealed that so we're waiting to get an answer back from them." She said the denial notice arrived Friday and the city filed an appeal before the office closed that same day.
Staff also reported that the city submitted a downtown revitalization planning grant (CDPG/DRS) to support green infrastructure downtown. Josh said the grant application drew questions from reviewers — "which is usually a pretty good sign" — and that the requested amount is $100,000; the city is waiting to learn whether it will be funded.
Council members heard a broader status report listing many projects seeking funding, including ADA improvements for City Hall, roof repairs, water-treatment plant extension/replacement (awaiting bid approval), AML waterline replacement phase six, Grand View water and SE extensions, and park renovations. Staff said the Ravenrock water extension has funding secured and preliminary design work has begun. Council did not take formal action on these items at the meeting.
