Administrator outlines land‑bank progress, visiting judges schedule and hazard mitigation update

County Administrator Nathan reported on administrative matters during the July 21 meeting. He said the county had some communication lapses on a recent land‑bank demolition project in Sandusky but that the issue is being addressed and that the state is likely to continue some funding, perhaps at a reduced level compared with prior awards.
Nathan also announced that visiting judges will support district and probate court dockets “2 to 3 days a week” for the remainder of the year to mitigate backlogs. He described parking‑lot painting and handicap‑space adjustments at the health department and said Greg Coleman, the emergency management director, is updating the county hazard mitigation plan and distributing surveys to townships for input.
Nathan said he expects the land‑bank program to continue in some form and asked commissioners to watch for township responses to the hazard‑mitigation surveys.
