Hochatown approves ODOT-backed speed-zone reductions on State Highway 259A (Dam Road)

Trustees considered a request from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) to amend permanent speed-zone limits on State Highway 259A (the Dam Road). Administrator Adam said ODOT's engineers recommended reductions along the 259 loop and that the request originated from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. "So they're asking, even though it's outside of our jurisdiction, they're asking for letters of support and resolutions of support from the town," Adam said.
A trustee moved to approve Resolution 2024-15; after a second, the board voted by roll call to adopt the resolution. Members noted the change will be coordinated as a courtesy to neighboring jurisdictions and requested the concurrence letter be placed on town letterhead before signing.
