The Rochelle Park Board of Education voted to adopt its final 2026'2027 budget totaling $18,611,138 at the May 5 meeting. The budget as presented and approved by the Executive County Superintendent calls for $15,275,847 to be raised by local tax levy and breaks expenditures into the general current expense, charter school transfer, capital outlay, special projects and debt service funds.
Interim Superintendent Giovanni Giancaspro presented the budget "upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent of Schools," noting the Executive County Superintendent had already approved the tentative plan. The board also approved a $560,654 adjustment to the final budget to cover increased health benefit costs, a $209,381 withdrawal from the Maintenance Reserve for required facility maintenance, and a $76,000 withdrawal from Capital Reserve for exterior wall repair/repainting ($70,000) and brick repointing/repair ($6,000).
The board approved payment of bills through May 1, 2026 in the total amount of $25,395.90 (General $25,350.90; Grants $45.00). The meeting agenda records that $4,894 of the districttravel budget had been expended to date; the board adopted travel and related expense reimbursements for 2026'2027 with a maximum district-wide cap of $15,000.
