Administrator Adam reported the town spent significant time researching statutory requirements to create a fire department and thanked external advisors for help. "Many, many phone calls...I just wanna thank...Mike Kelly, who's the executive director of the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association...Jonathan Strayhorn, who's actually our state fire marshal, who's gonna be doing our fire plan," Adam said, listing state and local contacts who assisted pro bono with research and planning.
Adam said the state fire marshal will produce the fire plan and that the town is coordinating with Real Water District 5 to obtain water-line maps so inspections and plan review can proceed. He also thanked Chief Corey Biegels of the Deer Creek Fire Department for his assistance in department-creation work.
