Hochatown moves to draft easements to bring private roads into town maintenance

In his report, County Administrator Adam described the town's effort to acquire private roads through easements so those roads can be maintained by the town after owner execution and council action.
"We now have the easements drafted. So they're not signed yet, but they're drafted and prepared to go to the property owners along KanataBee Trails, KanataBee Veil South, KanataBee Trail Southwest, which also covers Willow Bend Road," Adam said. He asked council members to expect outreach and said the next target for the town's abstracting firm is drafting easements for properties off Pine Hills Road.
Adam said town staff will perform the legwork and that some local property managers have volunteered to contact owners to speed signings. Once easements are executed, he said council resolutions will be required to accept those roads into town maintenance.
