Canine division places donated puppies with schools; 'Rosie' to replace retiring K-9 Vader

The police department reported an eight-puppy donation that has produced new placements across the community. "We had 8 puppies. We have since started turning them over to their new found homes," a department speaker said.
Officials said three of the puppies will be placed in schools with parent–teacher organizations raising funds to care for them; one puppy will remain with the police department and replace K-9 Vader, who is retiring on Aug. 1. The department said the incoming dog will be named Rosie and that a new handler will be selected to work with the dog after training.
