Police reviewed a range of enforcement issues including two incidents where items were converted to fully automatic and were seized. "Some notable actions ... from 2 separate individuals, 2 [items] that were converted ... to make them fully auto," the department reported.
The department said contacts with juveniles on e-bikes and gas-powered mini bikes continue; officers routinely notify parents after stops as part of education and enforcement. In a separate, more serious incident, officials said an ambulance at Community Hospital was taken by an individual described in the record as homeless; the vehicle was pursued at low speed to Saint John, tires were deflated and the person was taken into custody.
Board members praised the department's work at the conclusion of the reports, and one member noted year-to-date traffic-arrest numbers prepared by staff.
