Kevin Wright, executive pastor at New Life Community Church, told the council that semi traffic routinely enters 188th Street and turns into his church parking lot, causing recurring damage. “We’re we’re fastly approaching $50,000 worth of damage over the last 2.5 years,” Wright said, and that pursuing restitution from carriers has largely failed because companies often do not respond.
City staff and council members said staff have been working the issue and will review signage or other measures; one council member said staff had already begun pursuing options. The council did not adopt a new ordinance at the meeting but flagged the item for staff follow‑up and discussion with public works.
