Fall Festival set for Sept. 12 with parade, petting zoo, vendors and Buzz FM grand marshal

Parks staff previewed the fall festival set for Sept. 12: the parade will begin at City Hall at 10:00 a.m., travel down Murphreey'sboro Road and end at Veterans Memorial Park, where the festival is scheduled to continue until 3:00 p.m. "This year, the grand marshall is Dagwood with the Buzz FM," staff said, and described activities that include a petting zoo, animal shows, a slime bus and pumpkin decorating.
Staff reported 36 vendors and 12 parade registrations so far and asked board members to consider staffing a tent of long-time residents to share local history and stories. The committee discussed entertainment logistics, vendor registrations and parade entries and confirmed the festival format largely follows prior years.
