Howl at the Moon 5K set for Aug. 21; registration deadlines and race logistics announced

Parks staff told the committee that the Howl at the Moon 5K will take place on Aug. 21, beginning at 8:00 p.m. with check-in starting at 6:30 p.m. at the back pavilion. Staff said online registration is $30 through Aug. 7, rises to $35 from Aug. 8–20 and is $40 on race day; pre-registrants will receive a T-shirt while supplies last.
Event logistics include a route from Veterans Memorial Park to the city hall complex and back, eight age divisions, medals for the top three finishers in each age group and trophies for top overall male and female finishers. The staff member noted in discussion that in-person registrations are first-come, first-serve while supplies last.
