County signs MOU with online LNA program to expand local nursing aide training

Karina told commissioners the county signed a memorandum of understanding with CISU, an online California‑based LNA certificate program, that will recruit and advertise for students and deliver the classroom portion online while providing 60 hours of local clinical work.
"They are called CISU. It's a LNA certificate program. Essentially they're an online licensing certificate program. they will um do their own recruitment and uh uh you know, advertising for positions in the area. Um all the clinical work is done online and then they'll be here for 60 hours," Karina said. Karina added that the county — which will have first hiring consideration for graduates — is one of three New Hampshire training sites to sign on so far.
Commissioners described the program as a workforce retention tool for the nursing home and asked staff to track enrollment and outcomes; no budget appropriation was requested at the meeting.
