Manager reports progress on resurfacing, playgrounds, and CSX pedestrian-bridge negotiations

Township Manager Jacqueline Hashmat delivered the manager's report and highlighted community programs and infrastructure updates. She said Movies Under the Stars and summer band concerts are underway, the community pool is hosting a goggles and bathing-suit drive, and the township submitted grant applications including FEMA Assistance to Firefighters, FEMA Fire Prevention & Safety and NJDOT municipal aid for the Garrison Avenue resurfacing phase two.
On capital projects she noted the 2025 road resurfacing work is progressing; Turhune Park safety surface installation is complete; Brooks Park restroom shop drawings are approved and the building is expected in September; Sycamore Park bids opened July 7 with Green Valley Group the apparent low bidder at $1,947,800; and CSX negotiations for the Palisade pedestrian bridge are finalized so priority repairs will proceed with bidding and spring 2027 completion expected.
