Trustees say board, as landlord, will set checklist for Maple Bluff Country Club review

"Tonight's discussion is simply an opportunity to orient the board and the public to that framework and ensure everyone has a common understanding of the village's role as landlord under the lease," a staff presenter said. Trustees agreed they want a concise, single checklist of the specific items the lease requires and the financial information the board will review so the club can submit a complete proposal rather than piecemeal responses.
Trustees emphasized their review will be limited to what the lease allows and to any regulatory requirements outside the village's jurisdiction; staff said the lease is available on the village website and that a final checklist from council is expected later in the week before the board sends it to the club.
