District technology lead seeks year-long SWOT review of devices, AI and digital citizenship

He said the aim is to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and to produce an action plan with both short-term "low-hanging fruit" and longer-term funding priorities.
The presentation addressed device policies (which grade levels keep devices at school vs. home), local guardrails for artificial intelligence pending state guidance, staffing and licensing sustainability, and plans to reconvene the technology committee in early fall with a larger report expected around January. Dr. Bergmmyer said the work is in-house and has no immediate budget impact.
