Joint committee unanimously passes child care coordination amendments

The bill eliminates the childcare and early education officer position and makes other technical changes because the early care and education coordinating entity (now the Children’s Opportunity Alliance) has assumed many of the earlier duties. Ms. Wellens, who introduced the item for the committee, described the changes as largely “cleanup” to reflect a reorganization that has already taken place. The committee signaled it will forward the item to the full council for final action.
