Commissioners approve one-time payment to Fair Association with conditions and February review

"We can't just give them $6,900 just to give it to them," a committee member said, explaining the county requires invoice-backed payments. The board agreed to cover the Fair Association claim for this year on the condition funds be used for items that generate invoices and to revisit the county’s fair-funding approach in February.
The commission approved a motion to fund this one-time arrangement and separately approved the specific Fair Association claim payment on the record. Staff and fair representatives agreed to provide invoices or contracts to document the spending.
