The Norwich Zoning Commission voted to approve the site-plan application for 100 Main Street, allowing interior renovations to convert part of the building to mixed-use including up to two one-bedroom units and office space.
City staff told the commission the principal outstanding issue was trash and recycling storage for downtown units; the staff memo recommended either an internal trash room or an alternative solution so rolling carts would not be staged on the Main Street sidewalk. "They're going to have to work with city staff to come up with a solution," the planner said. The approval was conditioned on addressing trash, signage review by staff and other department comments. The motion to approve conditions was moved, seconded and carried on a voice vote.
