Local nonprofit proposes kayak launch at Bailey Creek; council urges permits, county outreach

Council members discussed property ownership and permitting requirements — including a joint permit likely involving the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Idaho Department of Water Resources and the Department of Lands — and suggested coordinating with Jerry Brown and county commissioners where private property and county easements are implicated. Staff said city property nearby might not provide easy river access due to wetlands and access constraints, but council encouraged the group to submit a formal request if they seek city contributions or signage support.
