Planning Commission forwards contractor-bond and small-subdivision changes to council
Summary
Planning Commissioner Kenny reported the commission passed an ordinance requiring contractors to post cash bonds and forwarded small-subdivision code amendments (deferred curb/gutter/sidewalks recorded and enforceable later) to council; a CUP condition was removed for a local applicant.
At the meeting Planning Commissioner Kenny reported two items the Planning Commission forwarded to the council. First, an ordinance requiring contractors working in the city to post a cash bond was passed and referred to the council. Second, a small-subdivision provision that allows deferral (not waiver) of curb, gutter and sidewalk requirements—recorded on title and enforced later—was also forwarded after discussion. Kenny also reported that a conditional-use permit for Dan Grama on 2nd North and 5th West was revised so that one condition was removed.
Kenny told the council the commission had considered these items in separate hearings and the commission's recommendations would appear in the next council packet. Council members thanked the planning commission for its work preparing the materials.
