Staff presented a request from property owner Ed Coe for a two-year extension to complete exterior work at 222 South Geneva Street. The earlier certificate of appropriateness had authorized exterior alterations to allow an interior conversion; work had not begun within 24 months and the owner submitted a written request for an extension.
The commission read the applicable municipal-code findings and determined the scope and design of the proposed exterior work had not changed since the original approval. The ILPC resolved to grant a two-year extension commencing on adoption of the resolution. The extension will allow the owner to continue with exterior work tied to the interior conversion without needing to reapply for certificate-of-appropriateness review at this time.
