Glenda Martinez, the town's Housing and Community Affairs Manager, presented "Savor Davie," an inaugural pilot program to promote locally owned restaurants and encourage residents to dine in Davie between August 1 and September 15.
Martinez said eight restaurants will participate with specially created three‑course prix fixe menus and three price points ($35, $45, $60), and that participation was voluntary with no cost to restaurants. The town will support the program through marketing, the town website and social media. Martinez thanked participating restaurants and town staff for helping to produce the pilot.
Council members praised the initiative and staff said menus and full program details will appear on the town website. No council vote was required; this was a staff presentation and promotional announcement.
