The Edwardsville City Council discussed Resolution 2026-06, the Kansas City Regional Resource Sharing Agreement proposed by the Mid-America Regional Council. Dave Mellon from the fire department described the agreement as expanding existing mutual and automatic aid beyond emergency services to include public works and other resources, and he said there is "no financial impact" in the agreement itself because specific resource-sharing terms would be negotiated at the time of a request.
Several council members asked where the full agreement text was; staff said the resolution and background were attached only to the agenda slide and the full agreement is available on the Mid-America Regional Council website. A motion was made and seconded to table the resolution so the governing body could review the complete document; the motion carried and staff were asked to email the link to council members for review.
