Gervais budget committee told to prepare 30-day plan-of-action after adverse audit

The committee was told that Oregon statute requires the city to provide a plan-of-action within 30 days of filing an audit. Rick Holmau said the city will present a resolution on the February council agenda outlining steps to address the audit findings.
Auditor Pascarella said a clean FY25 opinion was possible if the city provides the documentation the firm needs. Committee members asked whether the audit filing could be changed; staff clarified the FY24 audit has been filed with the Secretary of State and cannot be amended, but the FY25 audit and a 30-day plan will be the vehicle to correct matters going forward. An extension request to April 2026 had been submitted to the audits division and the committee awaited a response.
