Superintendent provided a staffing and enrollment update to the board, saying district enrollment rose from 1,396 to 1,467 since last July and that the special-education population increased from about 210 to 232.
The superintendent reported roughly 80 students attended summer school with an 84% average daily attendance and shared measured gains in early-literacy fluency and accuracy from the program. On staffing, the district still has paraeducator vacancies and at least one certified opening (middle-school science) that may be filled by a long-term substitute; administrators described plans to continue recruitment and, where necessary, use county or regional arrangements for course coverage.
For English-language learners the district plans to partner with Green Hills AEA to provide virtual instruction while continuing to recruit a licensed ELL teacher; interim arrangements will be billed through the regional AEA (RAEA) while the district seeks a full-time hire.
