A second commenter, Matthew Van Voorheesen, urged the commission to consider coordinating with FDOT on a pilot lane reallocation—closing one eastbound car lane to create space for pedestrians and bicycles to improve access to Lake Worth Beach. "I was hoping that the city commission would consider coordinating with FDOT...to close one eastbound lane for cars and make that for bicycles and pedestrians instead," he said. Commissioners took public comments and directed staff to follow up on requests for financial breakdowns and to look into pedestrian/bicycle access options.
