Gladstone plans QR-code park signs linking to online contact page and nonemergency numbers

City staff presented a signage update for Gladstone parks that would add a QR code linking to a city web page with guidance on when to contact Public Works versus Code Enforcement, online forms and after-hours contact numbers.
Kristen, the staff member leading the project, said the QR code will take users to a page that will include live links to email forms and phone numbers so members of the public can more easily report maintenance needs, dumping or code violations. The board supported piloting laminated signs and small stickers on existing park signs before ordering permanent fixtures, and staff agreed to include a nonemergency phone number on the materials for users who do not scan QR codes.
Board members recommended minor text edits and suggested staff provide an unpublished link for members to test before the page is published. Kristen said staff will prepare a few color and copy alternatives to circulate to the board.
