After returning from executive session, the board approved several personnel items on the public record. The administration recommended appointment of MP as assistant principal at Dreer High School; Vice Chair Weston presided while the chair recused and the board approved the appointment with six votes in favor and one abstention.
The board also approved the hiring of CM as the district's chief technology and innovation officer for the 2026-27 school year. "The administration recommends the hiring of CM to the position of chief technology and innovation officer in information technology for the 26-27 school year," a public staff announcement stated; the board approved the recommendation unanimously.
Finally, the board approved the hiring of 25 teachers listed by the administration for the upcoming school year. Staff said the hires appear on the attached list provided to commissioners and the board voted to approve the slate of new teachers.
