Vice Chair Melissa Morona read the letter and moved its approval. Council Member Morgan Woolage described the Crest Trail as running directly through her neighborhood and said she fully supported the funding request. The motion passed with the council recorded as in favor (15 yes votes).
The letter asks state leaders to fund slope stabilization, drainage repairs and trail reconstruction to restore safe, sustainable trail access for hikers, equestrians and other users. Parks staff told the council the request is part of a multi-pronged funding strategy while the county pursues additional grants and philanthropic support.
