City awards Clark Street storm-sewer contract to QX Ground for $174,438.49

The Social Circle City Council voted to award the Clark Street Storm Sewer Improvement Project to QX Ground in the amount of $174,438.49. Eric explained the award continues work tied to last year's east-west high-tower project in front of the school and said the contractor agreed to honor the price he bid the previous year.
"We're recommending that we award the $174,438.49 to QX Ground to continue that project," Eric said. Council moved and the award passed by voice vote. Staff indicated the project was part of prior work scope but was not included in last year's budget; the city budgeted for it this year and the contractor held the prior bid price.
The contract is expected to allow continuity of construction near the school and to complete storm drainage work omitted from last year's budget.
