Capri Harsten, finance and operations administrator for Metro Arts, told commissioners the department closed fiscal year 2026 in the black after careful budget management and said staff will monitor FY27 operations tightly as the department incorporates a required 1.5% efficiency savings into its FY27 budget. "As we closed FY26, the department is pleased to report that we ended the fiscal year in a positive financial position," Harsten said during the meeting.
Harsten asked commissioners to review the Metro Arts monthly financial overview included in the meeting packet and invited questions. Staff noted the FY27 efficiency target is documented in the FY27 budget book (page 457). No budget amendments were presented for immediate action; staff said they would return with adjustments if needed after monitoring expenditures against FY27 priorities.
