Board amends 2025-26 and 2026-27 school calendars to reflect holidays and scheduling changes

The board approved amendments to the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 school calendars during the April 28 meeting. The 2025–2026 calendar was amended to include May 26, 2026 as a closing day to use a remaining snow/emergency day. For 2026–2027, Rosh Hashanah (9/11/2026) will be a half-day dismissal rather than a full day, Eid (3/10/2027) will change from a half-day to a full day off, parent-teacher conference evening hours were adjusted (Nov. 9 to 6–8:30 p.m.; Mar. 11 to 6–8 p.m.), and the last day of school was shifted to 6/23/2026 to accommodate the Eid change; kindergarten graduation date was left to be determined.
The calendar changes were presented by Michele Rainere and approved on a roll-call vote. Board members indicated the changes were intended to align with religious observances and district scheduling needs; no dissenting votes were recorded for the amendments shown in the minutes.
