"We need to start somewhere," Howard told trustees while urging an appraisal process for a short list of parcels.
The motion authorized staff to solicit appraisal assessments from a neutral third party for the parcels the board prioritizes and gave the administrator latitude to investigate additional properties as they become available, with trustees agreeing to provide guidance to limit appraisal costs. The board stressed the need to pair property evaluations with a planning process to determine actual space requirements before making final acquisition decisions.
