Council instructed staff to retain that payment for now and scheduled further discussion for the August 3 meeting, with staff to return information on costs and options.
Separately, council authorized negotiation instructions regarding a former employee's recent correspondence. A motion recorded at the end of the meeting directed that Emily and Ashley negotiate with the former employee according to council parameters; the motion passed 5'to'1. The council recorded no substantive public discussion of the executive-session deliberations, consistent with the closed-session procedure, and then adjourned the meeting.
