Council approves 2027 budget to forward to Mercer County Auditor

Jennifer Schoonover reviewed the proposed 2027 budget and told the council it will be forwarded to the Mercer County Auditor by the July 15 filing deadline. "Post made a motion to approve the 2027 budget as presented which was seconded by Knapke. Vote all yes," the minutes state, recording a unanimous approval.
Schoonover also reported that tax receipts through the end of June are approximately 1.5% higher than the same period last year. No budget amendments or further fiscal actions were taken at the meeting; staff will file the budget with the county auditor as required by state timelines.
