Residents press Southampton for faded signs, drainage and lighting fixes in Leisuretowne

Kathy Thomas thanked the Committee for recent repaving and asked that faded street signs be replaced, stop signs be added and an otherwise dark turn be illuminated; Administrator Brandon Umba said he inspected the areas with Public Works Director Ryan Hagerthey and that the island on the turn "can be illuminated." Ms. Thomas also asked who is responsible for curbing in Leisuretowne; Administrator Umba said "it is the homeowner's responsibility as stated in the bylaws."
Bill Cozzi, president of the Leisuretowne Board, asked that storm drains be jetted and suggested planting a buffer along the lake beachfront to address child-safety concerns at the park. Administrator Umba confirmed that Burrs Mill Road Phase II is the subject of a state grant application, which may affect timing for related paving work.
The Committee did not commit to specific dates or funding in the meeting minutes; staff said they are compiling lists of faded signs and will coordinate with Public Works on strata repairs and striping plans, which could require contract change orders.
