Hall warned of the fleet's condition, saying, “our trucks are literally falling apart,” and urged prompt action; committee members described the vendor's shorter production timeline and a 30‑year structural warranty on the frame. After questions about financing, warranties and timing, the board unanimously authorized negotiation and award and approved exercising the early‑payment discount if the town's finances permit.
Staff indicated the purchase will be bonded and timing depends on chassis delivery; town finance staff will evaluate payment‑option feasibility before any early payment is executed.
