St. Mary's County opens early learning center to ease childcare shortages for county employees

County officials framed the center as an employee benefit and a community resource. Weiskopf and other speakers said the center will prioritize county employees and certain shift workers but will be open to the public if capacity allows. The county also flagged partnership and funding elements that made the project possible and invited the public to tour the renovated facility after remarks.
