Council authorizes mayor to sign nondisclosure agreement with federal safety board over Orion biofuel incident

The Fremont City Council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) with the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board related to an investigation of the Orion/Horizon biofuels incident. City Attorney Travis J. Cutts said the federal board requested the NDA to enable the sharing of confidential business and security information.
Cutts offered executive session as an option if council members wanted to discuss specifics; council discussed briefly and voted to approve the resolution 8–0. The motion authorizes the mayor to execute the NDA as requested by the federal board.
