Commission OKs cedar fence at Ice House Lane, limits height to six feet

Chris Wilson presented a proposal to install a horizontal cedar fence (two gates) at 8 Ice House Lane to screen AC units, a generator and to run along New London Road. Commissioners reviewed elevation changes and materials; cedar with pressure-treated posts and galvanized fasteners was specified.
Commissioner Moy moved to approve with a condition that the fence not exceed six feet to accommodate site grade changes; the motion passed unanimously. Commissioners and staff noted the fencing will improve screening while remaining consistent with nearby fencing styles.
"All the screening is cedar but the posts are pressure treated," the applicant said when describing materials. The commission asked staff to confirm final drawings and measurements when the applicant files for the building permit.
