Winchester Academy outlines fall lecture series, audio walking tour and scholarships

Anne Berger Linden, executive director and trustee of Winchester Academy, briefed the council on current and upcoming programs supported by the Waupaca Area Arts and Cultural Network. She described an audio walking tour project that will highlight public art and historical buildings and will be free to use via an on-demand app when complete.
Linden also summarized the fall lecture series, which opens Sept. 14 with a program marking the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11 featuring a historian in conversation with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum director, and noted other seasonal programs and collaborations with local partners. She described the academy’s scholarship program (applications open in January) and confirmed this year’s awardees as Alyssa Durant, Jordan Kazoviac and Graciana Legal. “We attract anywhere from 40 to 140 people to downtown for each program,” Linden said, noting the academy’s role in downtown programming and partnerships with the Arts Hub, parks and rec and the library.
