City moves toward awarding drainage-improvement contract along NW 39th Street

Procurement said seven bids were received with one declared nonresponsive for not delivering a required physical bond; the recommendation moved to the next-lowest responsive vendor pending final funding confirmation. "This project is very much time sensitive as well... we are requesting your approval to proceed with this to resolution at the earliest opportunity," procurement said, noting the combined total for related items was approximately $2.3 million with about $2.1 million currently available subject to finance review.
Engineering staff explained the scope includes replacement and repair of existing drainage structures, cross pipes and new connections to reduce standing-water risks. Commissioners asked about funding availability and asked staff to confirm remaining funds before formal award.
