Procurement and public-works staff briefed commissioners on a $50,000 grant and cooperative procurement to make small improvements at Northgate Park. Public Works Director Ron Desaprons outlined a scope that includes landscape work, a fitness station with rubber safety surfacing, two picnic tables, repainting the park's wall and entrance landscaping.
"The project scope includes landscape, fitness station, 2 picnic tables, and we also included a painting of the wall... it's a small project, only $50,000," Desaprons said. Staff told commissioners the procurement was on a cooperative platform and that bids were due the coming Friday; because the grant had a notice-to-proceed date in May 2025, staff emphasized the work is time sensitive and recommended moving to resolution for approval when bids are available.
Commissioners supported the improvements and asked questions about the fitness station and entrance work. Staff said the project will be highlighted and returned for formal award at the next resolution stage.
