Skylar Dyer Rempel, an intern with the Flagler County Emergency Management Department, told meeting attendees they are studying Homeland Security and Intelligence at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and are completing an internship to gain practical experience. "I attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and I am studying Homeland Security and Intelligence," Rempel said.
Rempel said they learned about the internship at a career expo and that their work includes projects and attending trainings with the emergency management office. "I would like to learn more about FEMA and just emergency management as itself," Rempel said, and added they might pursue work with FEMA in the future but could change direction. No formal action or vote was recorded on this presentation.
