"The planning commission did hear her case, and recommended approval of the conditional use permit application," planning staff told the board, and the applicant's representative noted the church owns the cottage and that only very small exterior ADA access changes will be required, with Historic Preservation Commission review to follow. Barley Davey, introduced during public comment as the art association president, told the board artists are "very excited to get back in." After no substantive opposition and a brief Q&A about parking and neighborhood notice, the board moved, seconded and voted in favor of the permit.
Next steps include HPC review of exterior ADA modifications and standard permitting steps for any site changes; staff said they would monitor compliance with the stated operating limitations and bring any required HPC items forward in June.
