The Mayfield Heights City Council on July 21 adopted Resolution 2026-49 to uphold a building department notice dated June 2, 2026 ordering removal of weeds and grass at 1117 Iroquois Avenue.
"That's a resolution upholding the decision of the building department notice of 06/02/2026 to remove weeds and cut the grass at 1117 Iroquois Avenue in the city of Mayfield Heights," Councilmember LaGrosso said when presenting the item. The council voted to suspend the rules and then voted on the resolution. In the roll-call vote two members — Councilmember Buffa and Councilmember Talbot — voted no; the remaining members voted in favor and the resolution was adopted as an emergency.
The action affirms the building department's original notice and allows the city to proceed under that decision. The council did not elaborate additional enforcement steps during the meeting. The council moved on to subsequent agenda items after adoption.
