Director Squire reports Main Street bore, South Second East water-line work; south-side pressure reduced temporarily

Squire warned that work has temporarily reduced pressure on the south side of the city and that some residents may completely lose water when crews shut service to repair leaks on Second South; he said the contractor will shift crews to address fire-protection concerns and expects Main Street work to last "days, a week at least." Council members asked clarifying questions about the scope and timing of asphalt replacement and concurrent work on other roads.
The director also said the county applied about 2,400 gallons of mag chloride on city gravel roads in the industrial park and will bill the city for the material; he reported the leak under the tracks had been addressed and discussed planned cemetery water-meter work.
